Plainly, and before anything else: Reims Champagne Tours may earn a commission when you book through a link on this site, at no extra cost to you.
What that means in practice
The tours listed here are sold by Viator and GetYourGuide. When you follow a link from one of these pages and go on to book, the platform pays us a share of its own commission. You pay the same fare either way; the price on the booking page is the operator's price, not a marked-up one.
What we are not
We are not a tour operator. We do not run any of these tours, employ any of these guides or hold your booking. Your contract is with the operator, through the platform.
We have no connection with any champagne house or grower, with Reims Cathedral or the Palais du Tau, with Reims Tourisme, or with any of the places these tours stop at.
How tours get listed
Operators cannot pay for placement, position or a badge. A badge on a card is the platform's own, and we keep it only where the tour's figures support it: a Top rated badge stays only on a tour rated 4.9 or higher, so the platform's badge on two 4.8 tastings in the city is not shown. Some operators sell several different days, and each appears on its own because each is separately bookable and priced.
The featured tours at the top of the homepage are three different ways to spend the day — an afternoon with family growers from Reims station, a day from Paris that pours at a house and a grower, and a full day with a big house, two growers and lunch — each for a different kind of traveller.
Prices, ratings and how current they are
Prices, star ratings and review counts belong to the operators and were taken from their own listings on 17 September 2026. They move, and the figure at checkout is the one that counts. Every tour fare is quoted in US dollars because that is the currency the listings were captured in; nothing is converted at an exchange rate. The fares are per person, and most private days need two people; the jeep ride from Épernay is the one fare priced per group.
The house prices we print are in euros, as each house publishes them on its own visit page. Facts about the appellation come from the Comité Champagne (champagne.fr) and the Union des Maisons de Champagne, the World Heritage listing from UNESCO, the cathedral's hours from its two official sites, and the tourist offices' hours from Reims Tourisme. Where a detail comes from an operator's listing, such as a meeting point, a group size or a stop, it belongs to that tour.
What we deliberately do not publish
- Taittinger's tour prices. The house lists its tasting experiences but no price we could read; check its booking page.
- The drive time from Reims to Épernay. It depends on the route each operator takes. The distance we print, 27 km, is the Épernay tourist office's, and the 30-minute train is the regional timetable's.
- Train times and fares from Paris. They change with the timetable; check SNCF for your date. The journey times we print are the houses' own.
- Listing claims the official sources contradict. One listing counts 25 kings crowned at Reims, where the cathedral parish lists 33; one calls a Pommery pressing centre part of a different group; one calls itself the only day with two particular houses. None is repeated.
